Then Now After

  1. It was 1932.month of September, date was 10 th.
  2. A boy was born to Senior G.Rao and G.K.Boi his wife.
  3. He is the third /fourth in the family.
  4. He was born in a small town.
  5. When he was around 5 he went with his parents to the then Bombay.
  6. He lived in Matunga. 
  7. They all lived in one building called Venkata Vilas.
  8. The house or manor was with four or five floors.
  9. The building was just a few yards facing the tram line.
  10. The boy used to come and stand on the footpath  to watch the bells ringing and trams moving to and fro. 
  11. There were two lines for the trams.They were all painted in red colour.
  12. The trams terminus was King Circle. 
  13. It had beautiful park .It was an enjoyable.
  14. Bhelpuriwala, malaiwalah kulfi,chana garam were sold
  15. It was very nice. He used to give sukka bhel with onion and the taste is still lingering in the mouth of this young old person.
  16. He used to take his sister and brother to Kabuthar khana and watch the doves in the evening.
  17. He used to walk near Panch building.
  18. There were many big trees with plenty of flowers.
  19. The Post office was also there.He did not notice that.
  20. Some times his brother a young kid of 2 or 3 years used to to take the Newspaper and give it to his father,
  21. He was born In Mumbai.
  22. One day a gentleman  ,a friend of  his father came and having tea.
  23. He told the father ,""You are very Lucky." "You have 5 sons.
  24. "four will carry you and one will go in the front."
  25. The boy of 3 was no more.He had small pox.He was no more.
  26. The boy who was the eldest among the, go admission in the Matunga South Indian Welfare School.
  27. He still remembers the big windows of the classrooms.
  28. He still remembers the longest pencil, the flying butterfly from Japan which his father brought for him.
  29. His father was a staunch devotee of Sri Raja Rajeshwari,the great mother.
  30. When his father prayed to her, his eyes were red and tears were rolling upon his cheeks.
  31. The said  Goddess Raja Rajeshwari came to this young old man.
  32. A replica of Her was sent by his nephew who got by chance  the original picture prayed by his Grandfather. .
  33. She is there blessing this house  and all Her children.
  34. It was really a wonder of wonders..
